Company Director / Expedition Leader
Paul is the owner of Sky Blue Adventures, a company he started in 2012.
Paul is an experienced mountaineer who holds the UK Summer Mountain Leader Award. At present Paul is also an Aspirant International Mountain Leader and began the training scheme in 2017.
He has been an active hill walker, backpacker and mountain biker for the past 30 years and has walked and led expeditions in various parts of the world including UK, Ireland, Norway, The Alps, Morocco, Tanzania, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Peru,Nepal,Borneo,Japan.
UK Event Director / Expedition Leader
Chris retired from the Emergency Services after 30 years in December 2020. He is now a partner in Sky Blue Adventures. He has spent every available opportunity over the last 35 years in the hills and mountains in the UK and where possible abroad. His passion developed from walking the hills to running them over countless endurance events spanning the Lake District, the Brecon Beacons, the Black Mountains, Snowdonia and Mont Blanc.
The pace has returned to something a little more sedentary these days and he enjoys nothing more than the opportunity to get away on multi-day adventures exploring our beautiful national trails with clients.
Away from the UK, he has lead young people on their expeditions to developing countries, and has been privileged to have led teams to countries including Morocco, Tanzania, India, Nicaragua and Nepal.
International Event Director / Expedition Leader
Jess is a highly experienced expedition leader on foot and bicycle having worked all over the UK and Abroad. During the day she will be found dangling off a high rise building in her role as an Industrial ropes access technician. Jess is responsible for the back office functions of Sky Blue Adventures ensuring the smooth running of all administrative processes in for our numerous events in the UK and Abroad. In her spare time she will be found trekking up mountains or freewheeling along country lanes.
Operations Director/Expedition Leader
Mark is a highly experienced Senior Outdoor Learning Instructor and Expedition Leader. As a former head of Warwickshire County Council Outdoor Education centre he brings over 30 years experience of instructing at the highest level on Land and Water. Mark holds instructing qualifications in Mountaineering, Canoe/Kayaking, Mountain Biking and Powerboating.
I hold the highest international mountain qualification called IML (International Mountain Leader) and the highest award for leading groups in the winter in the UK, the Winter Mountain Leader. In 2008 I was awarded the Life Saving Medal of the Order of St John for leading an expedition which rescued 7 Belgian climbers from a peak in the Pyrenees.
I am an approved trainer for the Royal Geographical Society’s Off-Site Safety Management Course and an AAP for Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Expeditions.
